NY1 News
Reconstruction of production and live-to-air programming control rooms for Time Warner's flagship news channel in New York City, which was completed while maintaining 100% operational capability. The design called for two nearly-identical control rooms featuring TBC consoles, Sony 8000G switchers, Wheatstone D8 audio bix, Shotoku robotics and Everts MVP multiviewer monitoring system. Chryon LEX2 systems and Ross SoftMetal servers are available to the production switcher for graphic element integration, while a Dalet newsroom Automation System provides lower-third and full-screen grahpics. Control Room N, the center for integration of daily programming elements from 56 inputs (15 HD) was completedfirst, folowed by Control Room, which supports the production studio.
The Food Network
HD upgrade of the Food Network studio for Scripps Networks Interactive, completed in a record-breaking four weeks. The upgrade from standard to high definition involved a rebuild of the entire core facility, including central equipment room, production control room, "flex" control room, audio control room, the main studio and the flex studio.
NHL Productions
Video aggregation facility for the production unit of the National Hockey League. The new facility is capable of receiving up to 16 simultaneous game feeds and providing MPEG decoding, video routing throughout,NHL Productions and into League's VideoBank Digital Asset Management System, and MPEG-2 encoding and video transcoding into various formats. The installation includes a Leitch 64 x 64 router, Tandberg MPEG-2 encoders and decoders and Evertz Distribution and conversion gear.
Time Warner Cable
Automated television production facility for 24-hour local TV news in Buffalo, equipped with one-camera studio capable of hosting two talent positions, plus a newsroom area for six reporters, two producers and two Final Cut Pro edit workstations. The reporter stations are capable of P2 ingest and desktop editing using the Dalet Editing application. The master control room features a large 65” LCD monitor fed from an Evertz VIP processor.

Overhaul of analog and first-generation digital studio at Washington DC news bureau for HD-ready serial digital technology. The design included two new studios and control rooms, ENG capabilities and editing tools for original or packaged program elements. File-based workflow is built around the Dalet Enterprise Edition, an all-in-one newsroom, automation and MAM solutio, with NRCS, ingest, editing and playout integrated with an Omneon Spectrum server and Autoscript on-air prompters. Tandberg H.264 encoders prepare content for transmission to Russia, where it is integrated in master control and returned to the US. The studios incorporate Ikegama HD cameras with Shotuku robotic pan and tilt heads and touch-sensitive displays for "on air" points. The digital control rooms center around Grass Valley Kayak HD production switchers capable of SD or HD operation. They share six channels of Vizrt news graphics with Moscow's Vizrt system, which allows graphic elements to be shared between facilities in a live environment.
Origin Digital
Conversion of SDTV broadcast operations facility to HDTV without interruption of ongoing services, convergence of traditional media operations with online and IP-based delivery, and development of redundant media production room. The on-air HDTV production and management facility features a 3Gbps 1080P format with embedded audio.
