Azzurro SI has been awarded, and is in process of designing and building, a major upgrade for NY1 News in New York.  The project involves a new routing switcher, new Master Control, new server and automation systems, new monitoring and support equipment and infrastructure required to provide fourteen (14) air channels. 

ASI will provide its professional services for a complete turnkey project. This will include project management, design/engineering and implementation services.

The NY1 News Master Control Consolidation project involves the design and integration of a new Master Control Room and a supporting equipment room in their existing facility located at 75 Ninth Avenue, New York, N.Y. It is currently anticipated that the project will be completed, including testing, training and commissioning by March 31, 2009.

The Master Control consolidation will allow NY1 News to provide multiple distribution streams from a single Master Control area using three (3) Master Switcher systems. One feed will carry normal NY1 News programming and will be distributed to Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Bergen. A second feed will be controlled by a second Master Switcher and will feed a local insert to Queens. The third system will provide Spanish programming. Local ad insertion capability has been built into the system. The feeds will be distributed in High Definition and Standard Definition. Internal routing and distribution will be via HD-SDI with embedded audio channels. HD feeds will be converted to ASI streams and analog video and audio in the final stage prior to transmission.
